Test week for the drones

[Testing week]

Field tests!

🧑‍🔧 Last month, partners from the University of the Balear Islands (UIB) and University of Klagenfurt (UNI-KLU) met in Klagenfurt, Austria for a test week.

🛰️ The goal of the bilateral integration week at the Drone Hall of the University of Klagenfurt, between the UNI-KLU team and the UIB team, was two-fold:

  • ensure the correct integration of all the motion estimation modules into the visual inspection-oriented UIB drone, and
  • evaluate the vision-based odometer (UNI-KLU) and the laser-based odometer (UIB) developed within the framework of BUGWRIGHT2, and mostly their fusion through MaRS (UNI-KLU) towards a more resilient estimator of the platform state and hence the drone motion.

Overall, tests were great. Partners are satisfied with the results.
